Architecture as a career

Architecture
Architecture is the art and science of designing buildings and structures. The main task of an architect is to keep feasibility, cost to the building as well as the functional and aesthetic aspects of building in mind. While planning a structural design, an architect has to weave interplay of space, volume, light, texture, shadow or abstract elements to achieve pleasing aesthetics. Architecture sector is booming as more and more people are going for individual homes.
Eligibility
A candidate should complete 10 + 2 with Math’s and English (with at least 50%) preferably with a first division. After completing 10+2, the candidate is required to complete the course of B.Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture) which is of 5 years duration in normal course and recognized by Council of Architecture (COA).
Career Prospects
After the completion of the B.Arch. degree, the architect has to register himself with the Council of Architecture (COA), which is mandatory if he wants to carry the profession of architecture independently,  want to take a Govt. job or want to take up teaching job.
After getting himself registered with the Council of Architecture, an architect can apply to Government agencies like Central Public Works Department or CPWD, which recruit architects through a competitive examination conducted by the U.P.S.C. It is a class II job. The person can reach up to the post of ADG (Architecture) by retirement.

Careers in Aeronautical Engineering

Aeronautical Engineering deals with the study of the principles and technology to design, manufacture and maintain highly sophisticated products such as aircraft, missiles and space satellites. Aeronautical Engineering also specializes in the evolution and research of commercial and military aircraft, missiles, spaceships etc.
An aeronautical engineer can specialize in navigational guidance and control systems, structural design, instrumentation and communication or production methods or it can be in a particular product such as passenger planes, military aircraft, helicopters, satellites, rockets etc. An aeronautical engineer may work in areas like design, development, and maintenance as well as in the managerial and teaching posts in institutes. The demand for aeronautical engineers in airlines, aircraft manufacturing units, air turbine production plants is quite high.

Eligibility
The basic eligibility criteria for BE / B.Tech program is 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry and Maths) or equivalent examination with a fairly high percentage of marks in the aggregate.
For M.Tech program in aeronautical engineering one should have completed degree in (BE/BTech) aeronautical engineering or any other equivalent branches of engineering.

Job Prospects
Good job opportunities are  available with aircraft-manufacturing units. In India, the defence service and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) are two major employment providers. Other than these two, Hindustan Aeronautical Ltd, National Aeronautical Lab, Defence Research and Development Laboratories, Aeronautical Development Establishment, Civil Aviation Department provides good employment opportunities.

Careers in Agricultural Engineering


Agricultural Engineering solve problems relating to sustainable agricultural production. An Agricultural Engineer may perform functions like planning, supervising and managing the building of dairy effluent schemes, drainage, flood and water control systems, irrigation,  perform environmental impact assessments and interpret research results and implement relevant practices.
Some other specialization available to agricultural engineers are system and machinery design; food and bioprocess engineering and structures and environmental science. Agricultural Engineers discover the ways to conserve soil and water and to improve the processing of agricultural products.

Eligibility

Careers In Arts

Arts is one of the traditional and most popular streams, which offers a plethora of career prospects. Careers in Footwear Design

Footwear is an emerging career in the design industry. As the people are getting more conscious about what they wear, the selection of footwear becomes a status symbol in society. Increase in demand and choice for footwear has led to a spurt in the number of companies, including some international players dealing with footwear production and export trade in India. Footwear is created from various raw materials, such as leather, canvas, plastic, jute, rubber, and cloth as well. The heavy branding and use of sophisticated machinery and skilled manpower has further contributed to the recognition of high-end brands. In short, footwear designing technology, as of today, offers lucrative career options.

Course Details
Graduate, post graduate, certificate, diploma, and some advance courses are offered in footwear design/technology. The minimum qualification for undergraduate diploma or certificate programs in footwear design is 10+2 in any stream. For admission in a post graduate course in footwear design, one must be a graduate in any stream of education. Admission to most of these courses is done through entrance exams.
